Underwater Fishing Camera

Technology has changed fishing in many ways. The use of an underwater fishing camera can capture video and
pictures of the life below. It will give you a better understand of what the fish are doing and what excites them.
Just by watching them below you will increase your chance of reeling in trophy fish more often.
Underwater fishing cameras are designed so that you do not have to get a scuba tank and join in. Most often the
fish will not even be aware of the camera and allows them to act more natural. These cameras are not only used by
fishermen but also by research scientists and nature programs for TV.
Because light doesn’t travel so well in water, the cameras have special sensors to work in these conditions. You
may find some terms attached to these cameras like AGC which helps produce a clearer picture. Most underwater
cameras can only capture things within 3 meters or less so don’t expect them to be able to see to the other side of
the lake.
It doesn’t matter if you’re ice fishing or fishing in the ocean, they will be of use to you in both instances.
Fish finders are great for detecting fish, but they won’t tell what kinds of fish are passing by. This is another
benefit of the underwater fishing camera. If you have ever used a fish finder then you know how frustrating it can
be. Sometimes what you think is a fish, will actually be a piece of floating debris. Once you use an underwater
fishing camera, you won’t want to use anything else.
Now I already mentioned about how far the camera will capture, but in fact, this changes depending on the water
conditions. Some lakes are much clearer than others which will allow you to see a greater distance. Usually during
the colder times, the water is clearer due to the lack of free floating algae in the water. But there is another
neat future with some of the higher end cameras. And that is night vision and also infrared vision. These modes of
capture will allow you to see in some of the more unfavorable conditions, especially at night time.
Sometimes when still fishing, the fish are biting but not getting hooked. It can be a frustrating time knowing
so many fish are there for the taking. The advantage of seeing the fish is to see how they are striking your bait.
Sometimes all it takes is a small tweak in presentation to get the hook snagged in their mouth.
And finally, sometimes it’s just fun to watch. When I got my first underwater camera that is all I did. It was
so fascinating to watch the fish move around, eye up potential food, and scatter at the signs of danger. So even if
the fish aren’t biting, you can still have a good time out with the family.
Although a good underwater fishing camera will cost a bit of money, it is well worth the investment if you are
serious about fishing. They are easy to use, waterproof, and can be used just about anywhere.
